To drive our business forward, we are now looking for an HSSER Coordinator based in Mariestad.
As an HSSER Coordinator at DS Smith, you will manage and drive HSSER activities at our facility. You will report to the site manager and be responsible for all processes related to the HSSER agenda, focusing on implementing agreed best practices, supporting the internal network, and working towards the vision of "safety above all".
You will ensure that safety observations, safety walks, and safety days are conducted, identify necessary activities, and drive them forward. You will share knowledge, maintain guidelines, identify areas for improvement, and initiate actions to raise standards. You will develop HSSER plans, promote a safety culture, coach colleagues, deliver training, and support audits by involving the right expertise.
As an external contact point, you will represent DS Smith to authorities and other organizations. You will also support the facility in managing risks in a cost-effective manner.
The role involves coordination with colleagues in North EMEA and other parts of Europe, as well as being a visible resource at the facility.
Qualifications
- Relevant education or equivalent experience
- Excellent collaboration and communication skills at all levels
- Leadership qualities and the ability to drive change
- Problem-solving techniques
- Competent trainer
- Knowledge of risk assessments
- Familiarity with legislation and regulations
- Several years of experience in manufacturing or high-risk environments

The position requires excellent proficiency in both Swedish and English, spoken and written.
